Cookie notice

This site uses a small number of cookies and browser storage entries so it operates reliably and, if you agree, shows embedded Google Maps. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies in this build.

What cookies are

Cookies are text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They can remember preferences between visits. Similar technologies include localStorage, which we use as a mirror for cookie consent.

Categories we use

Essential. Required for basic operation — for example remembering that you dismissed the cookie banner. These cannot be switched off on this site without breaking consent storage itself.

Functional / maps. When enabled, these allow Google Maps iframes to load on each page. If you reject functional cookies, you will see a placeholder and may click "Load map" to grant functional consent for that session.

Analytics. Not used. The toggle exists for consistency if we add optional analytics later — it defaults off and has no effect in this build.

Cookie name and retention

We store consent in a cookie named lvp_consent and mirror it in localStorage as cookie_consent_v1. Values are JSON including essential, functional, analytics flags, a version number and timestamp. Maximum age is approximately six months (180 days), Path=/, SameSite=Lax, Secure on HTTPS.

Google Maps

Maps are embedded from Google when functional cookies are allowed. Google may set its own cookies or collect usage data according to their policies. Our maps show the Telok Ayer neighbourhood at approximate scale. We do not control Google's processing — review Google's privacy information if you need detail.

Your choices

When you first visit, a bottom strip offers Accept all, Reject all, or Customise. Customise opens a panel where you toggle functional and analytics categories, then Save choices. Essential remains on. Your selection persists across pages and reloads within the retention period.

Manage cookies

Changing or clearing cookies

You may reopen preferences with the button above or clear cookies via browser settings. Clearing site data removes stored consent and will show the banner again. Browser instructions vary — consult your browser's help pages for "clear cookies" or "site data".

Third parties

Aside from Google Maps when consented, this build does not load third-party marketing scripts, social widgets, or chat tools.

Updates to this notice

We may revise this notice when our site or cookie practice changes. The date at the top reflects the latest review. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated notice where permitted by law.

Essential cookie detail

Essential storage includes the consent record itself. Without it, the banner would reappear each visit and could not honour your choice. No tracking pixels load regardless of consent category in this build.

Functional cookie detail

Functional consent gates Google Maps iframes inserted by our JavaScript after you choose Accept all, Save with functional on, or click Load map on a placeholder. Until then, maps remain a static placeholder with explanatory text — no request to Google is made from the embed path.

Your browser controls

Most browsers allow blocking third-party cookies entirely, deleting site data, or using private modes. Private modes may still show the banner each session because consent storage is session-limited by the browser — that is expected browser behaviour, not a defect in our script.

Neighbourhood map
